I love advent, and the anticipation it represents. As we move through December, baking cookies, choosing gifts, singing carols - all those things fill me with a warm sense of contentment. But it hasn't always done so, and the mental load that this time of the year can add to all the plates most women are already spinning, can be overwhelming.
I have felt the pressure to create the magic memories, to provide a daily list of inspiring and special ideas to do as a family, and often got lost in creating those things for others rather than thinking about I need.
